Clear skies

Today was a great Delta-X day. There were 4 boats on the water and AVIRIS-NG in the air. Boston’s Water Quality Team collected 5 samples in the Terrebonne basin near Four League Bay, with a few samples collected simultaneously with the AVIRIS-NG overflights. LSU’s team led by Andre Rovai collected feldspar (soil accretion) data at Delta-X intensive sites 322 and 399 also in Four League Bay. The JPL and UNC ADCP teams roamed the same region retrieving water level gauges and collecting a few remaining ADCP transects.

AVIRIS-NG had an extraordinary day. With clear skies, the team captured all of the 19 western Terrebonne lines with negligible clouds. This dataset will allow us to evaluate the impact of hurricane Ida in Terrebonne bay.

Tomorrow, the JPL and UNC team will remove gauges in the southern region of Terrebonne bay while the LSU team will be at Delta-X intensive sites 396 and 294. Friday is the last field day for the Water Quality team.

We are almost done. If everything goes well, we should be done with the Delta-X Fall Campaign this Saturday.
