The fall campaign is officially over!

By Marc Simard

Today, the Delta-X Fall campaign is officially over! The JPL and UNC teams retrieved most of the water level gauges within the channels with a few located within the wetlands of the Atchafalaya river.

Although, a few more gauges located at the intensive sites will be retrieved as the LSU team conduct its regular (every ~6 months) soil accretion surveys. Indeed, LSU’s surveys began in 2019 and will continue over the next 2 years.

Thanks to all teams that participated in the Delta-X fall campaign. Thanks to field teams from Louisiana State U., Boston U., Florida International U., U. Texas, Caltech, WHOI and JPL, and thanks to airborne teams from UAVSAR, AirSWOT and AVIRIS-NG. Spectacular job y’all. Bravo!

The Delta-X team will be processing, analyzing and assimilating these data into hydrodynamic and ecological models over the next months. Note that we will add the Delta-X (2021) data to the pre-Delta-X (2015-2016) datasets at the ORNL DAAC. In the meantime, you can already have a look at some of the 2021 UAVSAR data on the UAVSAR Data Search page.
